Pohnpei – The Pohnpei Soccer Association Kids Club (PSAKC), in collaboration with the Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI), is proud to announce the donation of new goalposts to Ohmine Elementary School, made possible with the support of the U.S. Army Oceania Engagement Team (OET) and the Pohnpei Department of Education.
The goalposts were delivered on Thursday, August 20, and mounted on the school grounds the same day. Students gathered around the new equipment with visible excitement, their curiosity and joy a reminder of why this work matters. For many of the kids, this was their first proper set of goalposts to play on.
This donation is part of PSAKC’s ongoing commitment, through the “Kick Forward: Girls in the Game” initiative, to expand access to football for children across Pohnpei — building not just facilities, but opportunity, confidence, and community.
PSAKC extends its sincere gratitude to everyone who made this possible: the maintenance team who worked to install the goalposts, Director Etse, teacher and coach Paul Cantero, and Principal Rosalina Sienes, whose support and partnership were essential to bringing this project to life.
Together, PSAKC, CFLI, OET, and the Pohnpei Department of Education continue to invest in the next generation of Pohnpeian youth — one goalpost, one game, one child at a time.
