Pohnpei – This week marks an important milestone for the Pacific Humanitarian Warehouse in Palikir, as Mr. Ben McMahon and Mr. Kyle Andrew from the Tetra Tech Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) team completes its site clearance work.
Over recent weeks, the team has been carefully surveying and clearing the area to ensure the site is safe and ready for construction. Their expertise and commitment to safety has been critical in preparing the ground for this important regional infrastructure project.
The Pacific Humanitarian Warehouse Program is a multi-donor partnership with the FSM Department of Environment, Climate Change and Emergency Management (DECCEM), and the Pacific Community (SPC).
“Australia is proud to be a part of this initiative that will strengthen disaster preparedness and humanitarian response efforts across the FSM and the wider Pacific region. We thank the Tetra Tech team for their commitment to ensuring the site in Palikir is safe and ready to commence construction,” said Second Secretary Josh Critchley-Evans.
