Pohnpei – On October 8–9, the Pohnpei Tourism Office, in collaboration with the PATA Micronesia Chapter, hosted a two-day Customer Service Training at the Pohnpei State Governor’s Conference Room. The workshop was open to the general public and brought together participants from government agencies, commerce and industry, and private businesses, reflecting the importance of customer service across all sectors.
Led by Glenn Weber, PATA Micronesia Chapter member and experienced tourism and service industry professional, the training focused on practical skills and knowledge to strengthen customer service standards throughout Pohnpei. Participants explored effective customer greetings and assistance, problem-solving and conflict resolution, and strategies for addressing customer concerns. The workshop also provided a platform for dialogue on the current state of customer service in Pohnpei and the steps needed to make it a greater priority across all industries.
