Yap – On August 18, the FSM GCF Food Security shared highlights of a three-day engagement in Yap that brought together the MCT Senior Technical Advisor, Project Management Unit (PMU) staff, Yap State partners, and community representatives to review project progress, address implementation challenges, and plan for the completion of remaining activities.
The engagement began with a consultation with the Yap State R&D Deputy Director, State Coordinator, Farmers Association of Yap representatives, Agriculture staff, and the Yap CRE Coordinator. Discussions focused on implementation progress, outstanding activities, and the way forward for the remaining project period.
On the second day, project progress presentations highlighted achievements, challenges, and key responsibilities across project components. The presentations were followed by discussions and clarifications to strengthen coordination and ensure a shared understanding of priorities.
The final day included visits to community project sites in Thabeth, Makiy, Thol, and Bael Elementary School. The visits provided an opportunity to observe activities on the ground and engage with communities involved in project implementation.
Overall, the three-day engagement strengthened collaboration between the project team and Yap State partners and helped establish a clearer path toward completing the remaining project activities.
