2026 APIPA Conference: Navigating towards accountability

Pohnpei – The Australian Ambassador was honoured to attend the 2026 APIPA Conference opening ceremony, hosted by the FSM Government.

The conference theme “Navigating towards Accountability” reflects both the challenges and opportunities facing our island nations today and underscores the shared journey the region undertakes and the collective commitment to strengthen the timeliness, quality and impacts of audits.

“APIPA 2026 has been designed to support the continued development of participants professional competencies while introducing new approaches and perspectives that will help to strengthen audit practices within governments in the region”, said FSM National Auditor Haser Hainrick.

Australia supports financial accountability, inclusion and public sector management in the Pacific through targeted budget support and regional partnerships.

“Australia stands with our Pacific family in the commitment of providing greater transparency to the community, which helps to strengthen accountability, improve public understanding of government programs and makes it easier for the community to access information,” said Ambassador Grant.
